Area rug cleaning services
iRPro Rugs cleans area rugs only. Services are organized two ways: by fibre and construction (Persian and Oriental, wool, silk, natural fibre, synthetic) and by problem (pet urine and odour, targeted stain treatment). Every job follows the same eight-step process; what changes inside it is the cleaning method, chosen after fibre identification and dye testing.

Hand-knotted wool and wool/silk rugs cleaned with dye testing and construction-appropriate handling.
Read moreWool Rug Cleaning
Wool is durable but pH-sensitive and slow to dry. We clean and dry it accordingly.

Silk and viscose look similar and behave very differently. We fibre-test before choosing a method.

Cellulose fibres brown and shrink easily. These rugs need low-moisture, tightly controlled work.

Machine-made synthetics tolerate thorough washing — the limits are backing, dye and wear, not fibre.

Urine reaches the foundation. Surface cleaning does not remove it — full flushing is required.

Some stains lift completely, some improve, and some are permanent dye loss. We tell you which is which.

| If your rug is… | Start here | Main consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Hand-knotted, patterned, bought as Persian, Oriental, Turkish or Afghan | Persian & Oriental | Dye stability and hand-knotted construction |
| Soft, springy, natural-coloured or vegetable-dyed pile | Wool | pH sensitivity and drying time |
| Lustrous, cool to the touch, fine detail, shifts colour with the angle | Silk | Silk vs viscose identification |
| Coarse, woven, jute, sisal, seagrass or cotton flatweave | Natural fibre | Browning and shrinkage risk |
| Machine-made, budget or outdoor rug, often with a latex backing | Synthetic | Backing integrity and wear, not fibre damage |
| Affected by pet accidents or persistent odour | Pet urine & odour | Contamination has reached the foundation |
| Generally clean but has specific spots or spills | Stain treatment | Whether it is soil or permanent dye change |
What we do not do
Being specific about scope matters more than sounding capable. We are an area rug cleaning company. We do not present ourselves as a wall-to-wall carpet, upholstery or hard-surface cleaning company, and we do not offer reweaving, reknotting or structural rug repair.
We do inspect and document damage — moth activity, dry rot, fringe loss, prior repairs, delamination — and we will tell you plainly when a rug should go to a specialist repair service, or when cleaning is not worth the cost relative to the rug's condition and value. Read more about that on our process page and in the pricing methodology.
Door-to-door transport is included at no charge in Chilliwack. Outside Chilliwack, a flat round-trip transport fee applies, covering travel time and fuel. Outlying communities are collected on scheduled route days. See the service areas hub for community-by-community details, or call 604-799-9985.
