    About

A Chilliwack company that only cleans rugs

    Short answer

iRPro Rugs is locally owned and operated in Chilliwack, British Columbia, serving communities across the Fraser Valley. Owner Darren Miller holds the IICRC Master Textile Cleaner designation from the IICRC. Area rugs are the specialization — not a side service offered alongside carpet, tile and upholstery.

    Why specialize

Most cleaning companies treat area rugs as an add-on. A rug gets cleaned in place, on the floor, with equipment and chemistry designed for wall-to-wall synthetic carpet. It usually looks better for a while. What it does not get is dye testing, full rinsing, or controlled drying — and those omissions are exactly what produce browning, dye bleed, lingering odour and a rug that re-soils within weeks.

Specializing means the facility, the chemistry, the equipment and the process are all built around one kind of textile. It also means we say no to work outside that scope rather than improvising.

    Darren Miller

Darren Miller has worked in cleaning and restoration for 20+ years. Alongside the IICRC Master Textile Cleaner designation, he holds IICRC Master Water Restorer and IICRC Master Fire & Smoke Restorer designations earned through insurance restoration work — water losses, fire and smoke damage, and category 2 and 3 contamination.

That restoration background is directly relevant to rugs. Water damage, contaminated water, odour chemistry, drying science and documentation discipline are the same disciplines, applied to a smaller and more delicate object. It is also where the habit of photographing everything before touching it comes from.

    How we work

Every rug is documented at intake, fibre-identified, dye-tested and cleaned by a method chosen from those results — not from a default procedure. If we find damage, we tell you before we clean, not after. If a rug should not be cleaned, we say so. If a stain is permanent dye loss rather than soil, we explain the difference instead of promising a result we cannot deliver.

The full sequence is documented on our process page, and what the certification actually means is explained on the certification page.

    Local roots

Chilliwack is home. Rugs are collected from Sardis, Vedder Crossing, Promontory, Rosedale and the downtown core, and from surrounding communities across the Fraser Valley on scheduled route days. Being local means your rug does not get shipped out of the region and disappear for a month — most are back within 5–8 business days. See the service areas hub for details on your community.

    In a customer's words

I actually learned about Darren through a competitor — they explained they wouldn't do the job, but insisted 'Darren is the guy. Nobody is as good as him, despite what they may think.' He has a vast wealth of knowledge, was so kind, and seemed genuinely excited to be given the opportunity to restore this thing to its former glory.
